- General Aung San at left of banknote
- denomination consists of 1, 5, 10,25,50 and 100 kyats
- 1 kyat-1972, green, blue and m/c.Native pully on back
- 5 kyats-1973, blue, purple and m/c. Palm tree on back
- 10 kyats-1973,red, violet and m/c. Native ornaments on back
- 25 kyats-1972,brown, tan and m/c. Mythical winged creature on back
- 50 kyats-1979 brown, violet and m/c. Mythical dancer on back.
- 100 kyats-1976 blue, green and m/c. Native objects on back
