You might be wondering what’s the point of joining your local coin club/society. Well, there are many benefits of being an active member like:

mental stimulation of associating with people of like interests;
the opportunity to increased knowledge through the club/society’s program of guest speakers, conversation with advanced collectors and the use of the club’s facility like the library which might have advanced articles or display of coins(both original, counterfeits, errors or oddities) to enhance one’s numismatic knowledge; and
the opportunity to upgrade and add to your collection by trading or selling your extras/duplicates and by purchase often below market, from fellow members
being a member allows you to bid at the club/society’s coins and bank note auctions and
have fun as side benefits as the club or society normally hold trips for its member to go to see coins/banknotes exhibition or convention in different locations.
