1915-S Panama-Pacific Gold $50

This is the famous 1915-S Round Panama-Pacific $50 Gold which was auctioned at Stack ‘s Auction for  USD52 K.

Known by many as one of the most-beautiful American numismatic treasures ever struck, This 1915-S Panama-Pacific Exposition gold $50 round format commemorative was designed by Robert Aitken. Just over 1,500 pieces were struck for sale at the Exposition, including a small quantity for assay purposes, but just 483 pieces sold. The unsold pieces were relegated to the melting pots soon after the Exposition closed and thus were lost forever to history and numismatics.

Earlier articles on the coinage of the American Trade Dollars & US Trade Dollars Counterfeits refer.

Append below are another two more lovely counterfeits re: 1872 & 1873 US Trade Dollars Counterfeits:

Counterfeits/fakes of American Trade Dollars

Counterfeits/fakes of American Trade Dollars

The above counterfeits/forgery coins are indeed lovely. Why not, the forger can spend more time on such coins as the original coins do fetched quite good prices.  For some reasons like some collectors would fancy collecting counterfeits whether as a hobby or due to the simple reaso of the lack of financial muscles, they  can keep some of the above coins and other similar beautiful counterfeits coins relating to the  beautiful China or Japan dragon coins or 1 piastre French Indo China coin or British Trade Dollars.

However, for those who are still not willing to learn to heed the advice of learning coin knowledge before buying then ” caveat emptor”! If you have read my earlier articles on the various counterfeits Chinese Dragon Silver Coins, you will definitely believe what I have just said.
