Below is the first issue coins of the People Republic Of China from 1955 to 1956:

1st Aluminium Coins Of Modern People Republic of China 1955-1956
These coins are made of aluminium composition and consist of the following denomination:
(1) China 1955 One Fen(RMB 0.01) coin.
(2) China 1955 Five Fen(RMB 0.05) coin.
(3) China 1956 Two Fen(RMB 0.02) coin.
Ironically, China did not mint any Two Fen coins in 1955. So 1956 is the first minted coin of Two Fen.
By the way, coin collectors will find the aforesaid three(3) alluminium coins are not at all cheap to buy. In e-bay, it was posted as ” Buy it now” at USD145.00!!!

In an earlier article, we have the seven chinese characters above the head of the general yuan shih kai, below is a similar coin which only has six chinese characters above the head:

- Dollar(Yuan) Year 3(1914) General Yuan Shih Kai Chinese coin with SIX chinese characters above the head

This is a crown size coin. Each weigh 26.4000g.,0.89000 silver.7555 oz.ASW. Interestingly there are three versions of this coin namely:
(a) VERTICAL REED edge
(b) Edge engrailed with CIRCLE
(c) Edge ornamented with alternating T’s
(d) Edge is PLAIN
(e) Tiny circle in ribbon bow. This is a mint mark but it is not clear what mint is indicated.

Below are three(3) coins which has the potrait of Yuan Shih Kai. Compared to similar crown size coin of Yr 3( 1914) which has six chinese characters, these three coins on the obverse side has seven chinese characters on the head of this chinese general.
These are crown size coins. Each weighs 26.4g.,.8900 silver.75555 oz. ASW.
Of the three years, the yr8(1919) is the more expensive one. EF condition fetches double or treble value than the other two brothers of Yr 9(1920) & Yr 10(1921)
