Earlier, we looked at the 2 1/2 guilden 1945P high mintage World War II coin, here we have theĀ 1 cent 1945P which again has a very high mintage of 335 million units. In fact, similar 1 cent minted by Denver has a mintage of 133.8million units and from San Francisco mint re: 1945S also has a high mintage of 102.56million units.

- 4.8 gram., Bronze., 23mm
- The obverse has the legend of Corn of rice
- The reverse has Javanese and Malayan text
- The edge of this coin is plain.

This is a very common 1945P 2 1/2 Cents Netherlands East Indies BRONZE 12.5 gram ,31mm coin. On the obverse side we have a smaller crowned Dutch weapon shield and on the reverse side Javanese and Malayan text. The edge of this coin is plain. The mintage is very high:200 million units
This a a World War II Coinage. Netherlands and Netherlands East Indies coins of the 1941-1945 period were struck at U.S. Mints(P-Philadelphia,D-Denver, S-San Franciso) and bear the mint mark.
Netherland East Indies,(Kingdom of the Netherlands) is the world’s largest archipelago extending for more than 3,000 miles along the equator from the mainland of southeast Asia to Australia. Since the late 1940’s , it is known as INDONESIA. The Dutch were in control until 1942 when the Japanese invaded. At the end of the World War II, with Japanese encouragement, Indonesia declared its independence.
