ND 1895-1907 Hupeh/China One Dollar($1) Chinese Dragon Coin

Posted by slang on January 12, 2009

The below pictures are the NON-PROVINCIAL Hupeh/China Dollar Chinese Dragon coin. Below Picture No. 1 showed the original coin  which has a weight of 27.0 g,.900 SILVER,.7814 ASW .
For Picture 2 & 3, we have a  duplicate/counterfeit/forgery but a very beautiful well done piece of reproduction which can only be distinguish by examining its lesser weight, the words in the middle (picture 3), the overall printing is quite hazy and not sharp and the likelihood of negligible silver content

Pict 1: Original coin ( cleaned), Original weight=27g.

COUNTERFEIT/FORGERY

Pict 2: COUNTERFEIT/FORGERY, Weight is only 21.3 g

Pict 3: Counterfeit, the tiny chinese character right in the middle looks like a lump which cannot be decipher at all. Overall, the chinese words are very hazy and not sharp. ( click to see bigger picture.)
